Sweet Adelines Coming to Little Rock on March 23-24

LITTLE ROCK — Sweet Adelines International is bringing the sweet sounds of women’s a cappella barbershop music back to Little Rock. The Heart of America Region 25 will hold its annual competition and convention March 23-24 at Little Rock’s Robinson Performance Hall.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for lovers of a cappella music to hear barbershop music at its best,” said Kelly Causey, director of Central Arkansas’ Top of the Rock Chorus. “We are so excited that the competition is being held in Little Rock for the second year in a row.”

The quartet competition, featuring 26 talented groups, kicks off at 3 p.m. on March 23. The chorus competition, in which 21 choruses vie for the top prize, starts at 11:30 a.m. on March 24.

Tickets are $35 for each of the competitions. Tickets can be purchased online at www.sai25.org/2018-contest/ (General Information, AET Registration) or the day of at the Region 25 Registration desk, located in the DoubleTree second-floor ballroom. An All Events Ticket is also available for $70.

The Heart of America Region 25 is a member of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide organization of nearly 22,000 women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education, competition and performance. Sweet Adelines International choruses are divided into several geographical regions. Region 25 is comprised of 30 choruses from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
